Freelancers is a conflict media and research collective with a soft focus on foreign fighters and other “conflict volunteers”. We seek to tell the stories of these men and women, and help the world understand what leads a person to leave the comforts (or discomforts) of their home to engage in a foreign conflict, as well as the effects that these men and women have on the conflicts they join. In addition to our coverage of foreign fighters and their activities, Freelancers creates content surrounding conflict history, small arms, military equipment, and the lesser-known stories and angles of the conflicts that continue to define our modern era.
